ABOUT

The second character in my Chinese name, “景,” means “scene”, a fitting nod to my love of crafting experiences through design!

I’m a junior at UC Berkeley studying Cognitive Science, Media Studies, and Data Science, and I’m passionate about using storytelling, design, and strategy to empower communities in need. I've also taken various classes in Scenic Design so I have a trained eye for composition, atmosphere, and the small design decisions that shape how an experience feels. No matter the medium, I always approach problems with curiosity, empathy, and a collaborative spirit!

My Journey

Having been an avid reader my whole life, becoming a writer myself was only natural. Writing taught me to step into other people’s lives, listening closely, noticing small details, and building stories from their perspective. And that’s exactly how I approach design: with a keen focus on what people actually feel and need.

Of course I have my by-lines on my wall

Being a journalist taught me how to find the real problem and explain why it matters. It trained me to listen closely, build trust quickly, and turn messy, human input into clear insight. Design is how I take that skill further, transforming what I learn into experiences and systems that actually make things better.

At Invention Corps (a social impact-focused design consulting club), we design specifically for communities that are often overlooked. That focus has deepened my drive to use my work where it matters most, creating solutions that improve access and real day-to-day outcomes.
